Anti-Graffiti Protection Film
Protect Glass and Surfaces from Vandalism
Graffiti, scratching and acid etching can quickly damage glass and other exposed architectural surfaces, leaving property owners with expensive repair or replacement costs. Anti-graffiti protection films provide a clear protective layer that shields surfaces from vandalism, allowing the film to be removed and replaced if it becomes damaged. These films act as a sacrificial protective barrier, protecting the underlying surface from scratching, tagging, paint, markers and chemical etching.
If the film becomes damaged, it can simply be removed and replaced without the need to repair or replace the surface underneath. Anti-graffiti films are typically optically clear and virtually invisible once installed, maintaining the natural appearance of the surface while providing an additional layer of protection.
They can be installed on most non-porous surfaces, including glass, mirrors, stainless steel, aluminium panels, tiles and other smooth architectural finishes. Because of this versatility, anti-graffiti films are widely used in locations where surfaces are exposed to public access and a higher risk of vandalism including:

Anti-Graffiti Protection Film Installations
Anti-graffiti protection films can be installed on a wide range of smooth, non-porous surfaces including glass, mirrors, stainless steel panels and other architectural finishes. The examples shown here represent just a small selection of our recent installations, from retail shopfront glazing through to public infrastructure and high-traffic environments. One of the projects shown includes anti-graffiti protection film installed on glazing at the Mt Buffalo Glass Skywalk, where the film was used to protect the glass from scratching and vandalism while maintaining unobstructed panoramic views.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is anti-graffiti protection film?
Anti-graffiti protection film is a clear sacrificial surface protection film designed to protect glass and other smooth surfaces from scratching, tagging, paint and chemical etching. If the film becomes damaged, it can simply be removed and replaced without the need to repair or replace the surface underneath.
What happens if the film is vandalised?
If the film becomes scratched, etched or tagged, the damaged film can be removed and replaced. This restores the appearance of the surface underneath without the need to replace expensive glass or architectural panels.
Can anti-graffiti film be removed by vandals?
Ultimately it can be removed. That being said, as part of the installation process we take certain steps to make the film less noticeable and harder to tamper with. We can explain more when discussing your project.
What types of damage does anti-graffiti film protect against?
Anti-graffiti protection films are designed to protect surfaces from; scratching and scoring, paint and marker tagging, acid etching and general surface abrasion. The film acts as a sacrificial barrier so the underlying surface remains protected.
What surfaces can anti-graffiti film be installed on?
Anti-graffiti films can be installed on most smooth, non-porous surfaces including glass and shopfront glazing, mirrors, stainless steel panels, aluminium composite panels, glazed tiles, marble and other smooth architectural surfaces.
Will anti-graffiti film reduce natural light?
No. These films are optically clear and do not noticeably reduce the amount of natural light entering a space.
Is anti-graffiti film visible once installed?
Most anti-graffiti films are optically clear and virtually invisible once installed, meaning they have little to no visual impact on the appearance of the surface.
Where is anti-graffiti film commonly used?
Anti-graffiti films are widely used in locations where surfaces are exposed to public access, including retail shopfronts, shopping centres, public transport infrastructure, schools, universities, government buildings and public facilities.
Is the film installed on the inside or outside?
Anti-graffiti films are typically installed on the exterior surface of the glass or panel, as this is where vandalism usually occurs.
Will there be joins in the film?
Many installations can be completed without joins, however this depends on the roll width of the selected film and the size of the surface being protected. If a join is required, we will discuss this with you beforehand.
Will the film discolour over time?
Anti-graffiti films are designed to maintain their clarity and appearance over time. All films we install are backed by manufacturer warranties, typically ranging from 3 to 10 years depending on the product and application.
Will the film bubble after installation?
Immediately after installation you may notice small water pockets or haze while the film cures. This is normal and typically clears within a few days to a few weeks depending on conditions.
What films do you use?
AlpineTint is an authorised installer for 3M and Solar Gard, two of the most respected manufacturers in the window film industry. We also work with other specialist suppliers when a particular product is the best fit for a project.
Can I purchase film and install it myself?
These films are specialist architectural products and are typically supplied through authorised installer networks. Professional installation ensures the film performs correctly and achieves the intended level of protection.
